What started as a chance meeting of two individuals at a gas station in Palm Springs, California in 1931 resulted in a life long partnership spanning the globe and resulting in the formation of a private foundation reflective of its founders’ innovation and generosity.
This is Hutton Foundation.
In the 1950’s Betty and Harold Hutton, entrepreneurs, adventurers and business partners, owned and operated a small oil company based in Long Beach, CA. From this simple beginning, together they built an empire with ventures throughout Indonesia, Russia, Asia and the United States. Harold passed away in the mid 1970s. At that time, Betty decided to return to her roots in Orange, California and began investing in commercial real estate.
In the early 1980’s, Betty Hutton asked Tom Parker (now President of Hutton Foundation) to join her company to help solidify its holdings. It was agreed at that time that all profits from the company would fund the newly established Hutton Foundation.
I t is from these humble beginnings that Hutton Foundation has developed into the proactive, philanthropic organization it is today.
