•  Are you currently accepting grant proposals?

      • We run two grant cycles per year. Each cycle accepts applications from two classifications areas. In 2026 our two cycles are

        • April 13th through April 17th

          • Classifications | Health & Human Services and Arts & Culture

        • September 14th through September 18th

          • Classifications | Civic and Community and Education

      • Dates and classifications can change from year to year – please check back at the beginning of each year.

  • Our foundation supports organizations who are 501(c)(3)s in good standing and located/operating in Santa Barbara County.

  • Any organization who meets our requirements is eligible to apply during our grant cycle(s). We highly recommend reaching out though if it is your first time applying or of you haven’t received funding in 5+ years. We will talk through our process and let you know if your organization would be a good fit to apply.

  • Your organization classification is based off your MISSION STATEMENT. Even if you are applying for a specific program that aligns better with one classification, you apply under where your organization is aligned. Go HERE to see how we define our classifications.

  • No. You should apply under the classification that best aligns with your mission statement.

  • Currently, for our Core Support grants you can ask for up to $15,000 or 10% of your operating budget.

    • Clear and compelling narrative

    • Strong alignment with our foundation’s priorities

    • Realistic budget

    • Measurable goals and outcomes

  • Please be patient with us, we receive A LOT (usually 50-100) of applications each cycle and it takes our committee time to read and follow up with each application. We will notify you within two months if your grant has been approved or denied.

  • At this time, we do not require a written report, though this might change in the future.  In an attempt to build a relationship with our grantees, if awarded, we request a site visit or meeting (in-person or zoom) to see/hear how things are going before you apply again.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to fund every request that we receive. If your application is denied you are welcome to apply again during your next eligible grant cycle. I would reach out and talk through the submitted application to see where you could make your application stronger.
